This is the first build with proper release notes. Every one from here gets them.
It is mostly speed and polish rather than new content.
Performance
The ground was being drawn as roughly 4,100 individual sprites — more than half of everything in the scene — and it is now batched tile layers, which takes that cost off every frame. On top of that, two panels were redrawing continuously while closed, the frame rate cap is gone, and a foliage effect was holding onto sprites it no longer needed. If the game felt heavy on your machine, it should feel better. If it does not, tell me and bring details.
New building art
The embassy, glyph altar, mycelium hub, shroom shrine and spore vault were all still wearing placeholder icons. They have real pixel art now.
Upgrades are filterable
The upgrades panel has filter chips, so you can narrow to one building's upgrades instead of scrolling the whole list.
Clearer UI colours
The default palette is now the higher-contrast one the HUD was actually designed against. Costs you can afford read green instead of dark plum — on the shop cards that plum was landing on a plum outline and turning into an unreadable dark blob. You can still change the palette in the settings menu.
Fixes you will actually notice
- Click spores come out of the mushroom cap now, instead of out of your cursor. If you click with space or a controller trigger, they were bursting from wherever the mouse happened to be sitting.
- Spore positions no longer drift when you resize the window.
- The leaderboard opens from the pause menu. It just did not, before.
- The dialogue panel is wider, and lines can carry animated emphasis.
- Dialogue lines no longer show up blank until you click them.
- The tutorial spotlight no longer blocks the Elder's blessing if you skip the tutorial.
Still a demo
It is still a demo and some of it is still rough. If something breaks, I want to know — the Discord is the fastest way to reach me, and I read all of it.
